Innojam++ at CeBIT – March 2016, Hanover

Akis Athanasiadis, Elena Velli, Giannis Gkrillas, and Vasilapostolos Ouranis (FTs graduates, class 2015-16,) represented Greece and took part in InnoJam++ at CeBIT – March 2016, Hanover – presented by SAP & Volkswagen ( ) with exciting challenges all around mobility of the future and Internet of Things. Elena - as a team leader - was at final four. Their team developed the app-prototype "Smart Repair Service" - An independent driver who knows his/her car problem with a click and has the ability to fix it on his/her own. The app was based on the SAP HANA Cloud Platform.

SAP-Internship with distinction for three graduates (FTs, class 2015-16).

Akis Athanasiadis, Elena Velli and Vasilapostolos Ouranis (FT graduates, class 2015-16) presented on-stage at SAP Next-Gen Forum 2016. Akis built an application in 10 minutes, using HANA Cloud Platform and was responsible for the Digital Boardroom showcase at SAP Forum Athens 2017, as an SAP expert.

NASA Space Apps Challenge (FTs, class 2015-16)

In 2016, Elena Velli and Vasilapostolos Ouranis (FT graduates, class 2015-16), during their postgraduate studies in the MSc, won the 1st prize in the NASA Space Apps Challenge contest in Greece for solving the "Astrocize" challenge with the idea of the "Space Gravity Suite". The International Space Apps Challenge is an international mass collaboration focused on not only space exploration that takes place over 48-hours in cities around the world. The event embraces collaborative problem solving with a goal of producing relevant open-source solutions to address global needs applicable to both life on Earth and life in space. Every year the contest has over 25 challenges in four areas: Earth, Outer Space, Humans and Robotics. NASA is leading this global collaboration along with a number of government collaborators and over 200 local organizing teams across the globe.

This year, as lead organizers of the NASA Space Apps Challenge contest in Thessaloniki, Greece, their main goal was to give the opportunity to young people to participate in one of the most innovative contest in the world and solve some of the most challenging problems on earth by bring their ideas into life. The contest was organized in collaboration with the BIOMIMICRY GREECE RESEARCH AND INNOVATION and the MSc, and successfully completed after three extremely intensive and full of creativity days, with the participation of over 100 participants, 7 mentors and 3 judges.

Egg – Enter Grow Go (FT, class 2015-16)

In 2017, Akis Athanasiadis’s idea (FT graduate, class 2015-16) was chosen to participate in the 5th round of Egg - Enter Grow Go, one of the most prominent incubator in Greece organized by Eurobank and Corallia ( ). The FinTech Startup that he founded is called CashLoop and is one of the 30 business ideas chosen out of a total of 2,500 applications.

Global Student Challenge of Supply Chain Finance Community (FT, class 2016-17)

In Global Student Challenge of Supply Chain Finance Community ( ), Georgios Gravanis (FT student, class 2016-17) and his team achieved the first place at National level and the ninth position in the International Final that took place at Windesheim University of Applied Sciences in The Netherlands on April 2017.

Most of the 2016 graduates already work in well known companies such as: PwC, EY, Accenture, Delloitte, IBM, P&G etc.
